I never really blogged about my weekend so I’m going to update you now.

Friday

Went out in town with old work friends, or I suppose they are just friends now.  Its weird not seeing them everyday and was great to catch up.  Carl came out too and he enjoyed it so I was pleased.  We left about 11 as we were both shattered, and he had work in the morning.  A couple of people sempt annoyed that we were leaving early, but staying out till 1 isn’t my thing anymore, and its hard to do when you haven’t bee drinking.  I think they found it strange that I wasn’t drinking, and to be honest I felt pressured to have a couple of drinks.  As far as I was concerned Friday was a top night without any alcohol.  Next time we arrange a night out I feel like I’m going to have to mention beforehand it wont be late one, and that I wont drink.  I just don’t feel the need anymore, and can have just as good night without.  Perhaps they think I’m boring, but I hope they understand.  I don’t want to be made to feel guilty for going home early, when they knew the score from the beginning.  I enjoy going out with them, and don’t want to stop.

Saturday

Saturday as I said below I cracked on with the packing up of my room.  I’ve filled about 4 boxes and 3 bin liners and they are ready in the garage waiting to be moved to the new house.  I also had to have a last minute MOT!  Randomly Friday night coming home from town we start talking about the car and I realise my MOT ran out at the beginning of last week! OOPS! Fortunately there was a slot for me at 3.00 so Mum followed me down to the garage (where Carl was sat outside with his trousers rolled up in the sun). 

Saturday night I had a chill night, I was worn out from all the packing so had a bath and an early night while Carl was at a BBQ with his friends.

Sunday

Initially the plan was to do nothing all day, but I was bored of staying in so we popped into town for an hour and I picked up some cardigans and a throw for the sofa from Primark.  We then went over to Wicks to look at the cooker Carl had spotted.  It was really nice and they had 2 in stock, but we wanted to check the measurements of the one already in to see if it would fit.. And guess what? It’s too small.  Carl is in talks with his next door neighbour at the mo who is going to fit is for us, he says the fact that the oven is smaller is OK, as its allowed a little bit of room, but were not sure about the Hob… Looks like we wont have a new cooker when we move in anyway.. But I guess at least there is one we can manage with. 

Sunday night we had tea with Mum and Dad.  Its going to be the last Sunday for a while we all sit and have tea together.  It’s become a bit of a habit lately and Mum told me Sunday although she’s enjoyed it, she doesn’t want to do it every Sunday when I’m gone.  I think there are a couple of reasons for this but mainly it’s because she’s at work Sundays and really needs to rest when she gets in.

Monday

Carl was at a car show in the morning so I got up and went a look round Next.  In the afternoon we went to Chiltern Mills and ordered our bedroom curtains!  They are a champagne colour and are in a silky material, really nice. They were ½ price too £39.99 a pair.  Unfortunately we have 2 windows in our bedroom so it’s actually going to cost £80 but worth it I think. Especially as we went into town and spotted the same ones in Westgate for £119 each!   We also ordered our living room furniture while we were in town from Argos.  The TV stand and coffee table came to £170 and for an extra £30 there was a deal where you get them both plus a unit for £199 so we had that.  The unit will be ok to store DVD’s and CD’s in, we will put it under the stairs I think.

It’s all coming together now and I’m feeling a tad more relaxed, but a lot more nervous!  I can’t believe that in a few days time were going to have a house!!
