We have a problem…! Fifi is maturing – Colin (thankfully) is neutered and I’ve had to book Fifi in to be done too. Last week we had an incident where Fifi clambered on Colin’s head and “did him”! The poor chap didn’t know what had hit him, especially as she then pulled out a chunk of his fur in what looked like an effort to cling on.
Since then we’ve had an incident every day, but I’ve only see her do it in the living room after chasing each other around (perhaps all the exercise excites her…) the last attempt she did get on the right end, which looked even funnier, but i am stopping them. I’m sure Colin isn’t enjoying her thrusting into his face, although she does lick his ears afterwards (which he’s a sucker for) so he just lets er carry on!
she’s only just over 4 months old and they usually get neutered at 6 months. I’ve booked her in on the 13th Nov so she’ll be 5 1/2 months. She’s very very tiny so I’m a little worried, but its got to be done.
She’s also made a nest behind her cage with Colin’s fur (well pulling her own out would be silly wouldn’t it?) for her babies that she thinks she’s having – neutering will stop her doing this, and might also stop her growling at me (which I am currently dealing with by growling back!)
I think I’d quite like to keep some chickens October 18, 2008

Yesterday at work someone commented on my rabbits (I have a pic next to my desk) and they told me that they kept chickens. We continued chatting and I readlly got quite into the idea. A friend of mine keeps quite a few, but I fancied maybe two.
I was told to look at www.omlet.co.uk and to check out a product called the Eglu. And I found the coolest chicken houses.. they are a bit pricey but at £395.00 for the house (big enough for 2 chickens) and the run, and also comes with 2 chickens, and a delivery person will come and set it up for you and also spend some time explaining how to keep chickens, and clip their wings ect.
The chickens will provide an egg a day each which is pretty impressive (although I dont eat that many eggs), they are friendly and will get on fine with the Rabbits.
Talking of rabbits, they make an Eglu for keeping rabbits and they are a little cheaper….
Cool arent they??

Poorly Colin October 4, 2008

Goodness me, I have never felt so much love in my life Colin was really poorly yesterday and I got myself really worked up about it.
He had his breakfast fine in the morning, and cabbage and fuss again when I got home from work, then he went to lay on the stairs as he always does. About 7.00 he was still up there which was unusual as we’d let Fifi out and he plays with her. I went to see him and he was really dozy, and his head lolling off the step. All evening he sempt to get worse and worse. I brought him downstairs and he just layed out all evening. He was letting me touch his tummy and feel him and his feet (something he NEVER does). Fifi kept licking him and was sat next to him almost all evening. He got up about 9.30 and went to lay in his cage in the kitchen. I tried to get him to eat something, some cabbage or a chocolate drop and he wouldn’t, and that’s when I noticed that he’d wee’d where he was laying and it was all over himself. He sempt really off his back legs and looked shakey when he first tried tp stand. Bursting into tears I decide to move the cage into the living room and kip on the sofa with the light on so I can watch him all night. About 2am he got up and had some hay, and then at 5am he started to stretch and sit cleaning himself up.
This morning he seems FINE. Had his breakfast and was begging for his pellets as normal – even had a play outside. I’m going to keep a close eye on him today, but looks like he might be fine – fingers crossed.
I cant believe how upset and worked up I was, I know I thought the world of him, but last night was the first time I realised how much. I know he’s only a Rabbit but he really is special to me. I couldn’t bear it if anything happened to him, and i really thought he was going to die last night.

Thanks Nemma for the tag! So the game is that I have to list 5 current addictions, and then tag two of mt fellow bloggers to do the same. Easy Peasy.. here we go!! And you cant tag me back (ner, nerr, ner nerrr)
1. As Nemma rightly guessed (and who wouldn’t) shopping is a HUGE addiction of mine. Be it online shopping, physical shopping or make-believe shopping – I love it all!! My favorite things to shop for have to be boots and shoes. I’ve always been into clothes, but got into shows when I first lost a lot of weight a couple of years ago. I was struggling to get clothes to fit me, so started buying shoes as my feet never changed size. I average at one pair of shoes or boots every couple of months and over the past year the value of the shoes and boots I’m purchasing is increasing. My most expensive pair to date are my Ugg boots which cost £100, and my most barganous pair to date is my Replay boots which were supposed to be £130 but i got them for £30. I’m always thinking about my next “fix” and will be purchasing the new Lacotste boot featured a few posts ago, in October.
2. Magazines are another addiction of mine. and kind of links in with the first point. I subscribe weekly to “LOOK” magazine which is all about fashion! I scour the mag for bargains and great items to purchase (Lacoste boots!). I also like reading gossip magazines like OK and Heat, but always, ALWAYS fall into the trap of buying a mag based on the front cover and then find that the story is pants. Any celebrity wedding featured in OK will guarantee me purchasing it!
3. Mobile Internet. Since upgrading my mobile phone in July i have been NON stop on the net – how did i ever manage without it before? I check the weather every morning, and I’m always on mobile Facebook. Damn I love my phone.
4. Rabbits. I bloody love my rabbits and talk about them LOADS which I think classes them as an addiction. I take a LOT of photos of them, when I discover one day i have blinded them with my flash i will not be surprised.
5. The 5th one is a little harder – but it had to be my weight I think. I wont go into too many details, but I lost a lot, and put some on bit by bit.. but just recently I have for the first time in a long time been able to buy a pair of trousers from a normal shop in a size 8 and have them fit me (a little baggy but still fit me). I was a little but annoyed at first that just after Xmas I spent £45 on a pair of trousers at Topshop (the only place I was finding them to fit me) but then realised that actually I could buy a pair from ASDA for a tenner. Which helps with the shopping addiction in point 1!!!
Now, I think I’m going to tag Chelle http://chelleg.wordpress.com/ and Kristy http://kristy123.wordpress.com/ ! So cummon girls – lets have yours!!
Vets update September 11, 2008
Posted by a1ly in Uncategorized.2 comments
Well the vets didn’t go so badly. Colin had his nails cut and Fifi had her first manicure! She also had her Myxi injection too. I showed the vet Colin’s patch and she immediately said he was barbering himself. Either through boredom or stress. I explained that boredom was not an option; he has plenty to do in his cage and in the house, and is very spoilt with our time. The other option is stress. This would kind of make sense as he’s been through a lot recently, a new bunny first in the house, and then in HIS house. I’m actually hoping that it happened a while ago and that I’ve just noticed, and that he is happy and stress free now him and Fifi are bonded. I have to keep an eye on it and see if its growing back or getting bigger, but the only cure will be to separate them. Hopefully it won’t come to that, but if I have to I will. The thought of the poor little fella going to such extremes in a stressful situation, is literally the equivalent of us pulling out hair out!
The vet also quite tactfully mentioned that Colin was overweight and that we needed to cut down his food massively. No more than two egg cups of pellets a day MAX, which is about half of what he gets now. Poor thing!
With regards to the boots, I’ve finally found a stockist www.office.co.uk but they won’t be stocking them until the beginning of October so gives me time to get paid first!!
Poorly Colin and more boots September 9, 2008

OH MY GOD!!! I am such a bad bunny Mummy! I was stroking Colin last night and noticed a funny patch on his neck. Further inspection i saw that in fact he had a bold patch of fur on his neck, about an inch wide and 2 inch long! Poor thing, I dont know whats caused it, it doesnt seem to be painful for him, and its not bleeding of scabby, but boy does it look BAD. How long has it been there, how did it happen, and why the hell didnt i notice sooner? I feel soooo sad, I’m actually welling up at the thought of the poor little boy. With him being non human and unable to make ANY noise at all, it is totally up to me to look after him. How do I know he’s not in a huge amount of pain?!!
I’ve booked him in the vets thursday to check him out, and while we are there Fifi will have her myxi injection.
I’ve also found the new “wear with everything” winter boots im going to purchase.. they are by Lacoste and cost £60. I think the red ones are the best, yello are too simular to the colour of my uggs. I just need to find a store that stocks them!!
My Bunnies September 8, 2008

The buns are getting along great, Colin has decided that he does after all know his name (shocking what a new little bunny has done to him) and Fifi is getting better with the litter training and she is VERY clever and knows her name too. She is very nosey and cheeky and a very nice all round bunny. I’ve cut Colin’s dry food down, and Fifi is on the veg so the result is two bunnies clambering for my attention and to be fed! – I finally feel needed!!
Here’s them being good together (only because there is food involved)
I’m so over Rebecca Adlington September 6, 2008

As the title suggests I’m a bit sick of hearing about Rebecca. Last week the Chad was devoted to the Olympic swimmer, and reported pretty much fuck all else news. Tony Egginton is so obviously jumping on the bandwagon that I’m embarrassed to live in
Rebecca swam well, great. Two gold medals for England is fantastic, she has trained hard and it has paid off. Her friends, family and town are proud of her, but no more fuss please!!
There are people who work their asses off at Kings Mill hospital and save lives every day, Tony perhaps ought to put more energy into local council tax reduction, MRSA free hospitals, better buss services for OAP’s and helping out the needy and elderly in the credit crunch, instead of buying her some tacky gold shoes with our money.
